Nick, his wife Teresa, eldest son Maurizio, or manager Stefano.
Nick and Teresa emigrated to Sydney from the Calabria region of southern Italy in the 1970s. They have owned and operated more than a dozen restaurants around the city and Eastern Suburbs, and finally settled in Coogee in 1993. Both are seasoned experts in Italian food. The La Spiaggia menu is dotted with homemade Lombardo favourites, some made in the restaurant, others in Teresa's home kitchen. The overwhelming welcome that customers receive at La Spiaggia is because of them. Everyone is family.
Maurizio is Nick and Teresa's eldest son, and the night-to-night face of La Spiaggia. He manages the staff, menus, wine lists and bookings. and is probably the man you'll run into at the door. He is a modern restaurateur with a strong respect for his Calabrian roots, a true student of Italian cookery. He is married to racing author Jessica Owers and they have a son, Julien.
Stefano Lucia is La Spiaggia's manager and barman. He has been part of the Lombardo family for over a decade. Hailing from the Rimini region of Italy, he is qualified in restaurant service and, in particular, bar tending. Stef's sharp memory and affable nature makes him a favourite among La Spiaggia locals. He will remember your drink before you do, and have it in your hands before you order it.
